Refund Policy
Effective July 1, 2026
Babysitter.net is a directory that connects parents with babysitters. We charge only for our platform services (Premium subscriptions and one-time contact unlocks). We never process the wages a parent pays a sitter.
1. One-time contact unlocks ($29)
A one-time unlock delivers instant digital access to a specific sitter's messaging and phone reveal. Because the value is delivered immediately, one-time unlocks are non-refundable once the contact information has been viewed or a message has been sent.
If you have not used the unlock and request a refund within 24 hours of purchase, we will issue a full refund. Email support@babysitter.net from the email address on the account.
2. Premium subscriptions ($19/month or $169/year)
The monthly and annual Premium plans auto-renew until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your billing portal; your access continues until the end of the current paid period, and no further charges are made. The 3-month and 6-month Premium passes are one-time purchases that do not auto-renew, and follow the same no-refund policy as the one-time contact unlock in section 1.
We do not issue prorated refunds for partial periods. This policy is disclosed at checkout and confirmed by the mandatory Terms of Service acceptance step.
3. Goodwill refunds
At our discretion, we may issue a goodwill refund for duplicate charges, technical failures that prevented you from using the service, or accidental purchases reported promptly. Send requests to support@babysitter.net.
4. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is unauthorized, please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank. Most disputes are resolved in one email. Filing a chargeback without contacting us first may result in immediate suspension of your account pending review.
5. Background-check fees
Fees paid directly to our background-check partners (National Crime Search in the United States, Triton Canada) are governed by that partner's refund policy, not ours. Contact the partner directly for any refund request on those fees.
